Harvest Festival at Edgefield

Our Harvest Festival continues a tradition that goes back generations, when communities depended directly on the land for their food and gathered together each autumn to give thanks for a successful harvest safely brought in. Today, although our lives may be very different, Harvest remains a wonderful opportunity to pause and give thanks for the food we enjoy, the people who produce it, and the beauty and abundance of the natural world.

Join us at Edgefield for a traditional and joyful service of singing, thanksgiving and celebration. All are warmly welcome, whether you regularly attend church or simply want to share in this much-loved village tradition.

Refreshments will be served afterwards – including, of course, delicious fruit crumble!

St Peter & St Paul Edgefield

We have the newest church in the benefice, consecrated in 1884. The old church had fallen into such a state of disrepair that Canon Walter Marcon, whose father was rector here before him, decided to build a new church more - central to both halves of the village, The Street and The Green. This was quite an undertaking - come and visit and find out more!
