Meditation has become a regular and enriching part of our community life. Each first and third Wednesday at 6pm, we gather to quieten our minds and create space for God to work within us. Whether you are an experienced meditator or simply curious, we warmly welcome you to join us on this journey.

We believe that meditation is a skill that can be developed over time, much like prayer. It’s an opportunity to intentionally step away from the noise of daily life and enter a state of peaceful awareness. In this silence, we can listen for God’s guidance and deepen our spiritual connection. It is a time to simply "be" with God, without the need for words or specific requests.

Our sessions are usually around 30 minutes and to help you feel more comfortable during the session, we suggest bringing a cushion for the pews.

We look forward to seeing you there.

We are delighted to be celebrating Mothering Sunday this year with two special services across our benefice. Whether you join us at Edgefield Church or at Plumstead Church, both services begin at 10:30am, and you can expect a warm welcome and a service designed to bring the whole community together.

This is a day when we think beyond simply 'mothers' and celebrate 'mothering' in all its forms. It's about showing appreciation for all who care for others—whether that's mums, grandmas, aunties, godparents, teachers, or friends. We will be giving thanks for the special people who nurture and guide our children and young people, and for the many different kinds of families we represent. Children are especially welcome at both services, and we hope families will come along to share in this joyful and inclusive celebration as we honour the special mother-figures in our lives.

The simplicity and shorter length make it an accessible and engaging experience for young families. Come share the quiet joy of Christ's presence, receive communion, and connect with our welcoming community. All are invited.

Compline in Holy Week

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Plumstead: St Michael
Address
Church Street Plumstead Near Holt NR11 7LG, NR11 7LG, United Kingdom

As part of our journey through Holy Week, we invite you and your family to a very special Compline service at Plumstead Church at 6pm. Compline is traditionally a quiet, night-time prayer service to end the day, but this will be a little different—and we would love children to be part of it.

Together, we will transform our church space to help tell the story of Holy Week in a powerful and visual way. We will turn the altar around and, working as a family group, we will create a tomb, just as Jesus' followers would have done on that first evening. It’s a hands-on, gentle activity that helps children (and grown-ups) connect with the story in a meaningful way, before we settle into a short, quiet time of prayer and reflection by candlelight.

This service is designed to be simple, atmospheric, and suitable for all ages—a peaceful and memorable way for families to experience the solemnity of Holy Week together. No need to worry about sitting still for too long; the focus is on doing, wondering, and being together in the quiet. Everyone is welcome to come and share this special moment as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

He is risen!

Join us on Easter Day for a joyful and uplifting service as we celebrate the heart of the Christian faith—the resurrection of Jesus. This is the most special and joyful day in our church calendar, and we would love for you and your family to be part of it.

Our service will be a wonderful opportunity for all ages to come together and share in the incredible story of Easter morning. We'll be exploring what it means that the tomb was found empty and that Jesus is alive, in ways that speak to both young and old. With activities especially planned for children, families are not just welcome—you are at the very heart of our celebration. There will be chances for little ones to engage with the story through craft, colouring, or simple activities, all while staying close to the main service.

Whether you are a regular visitor, returning to church after a long time, or simply curious about what Easter really means, you will find a warm welcome. Come and share in the joy, the hope, and the wonder of this most holy day. Together, we will discover that Easter is not just a story from long ago, but good news for us all, right here and right now. We can't wait to celebrate with you.

He is risen Indeed!
