Cockyard Mission Hall

The Mission Hall is part of the Parish of Abbeydore (Holy Trinity & St Mary's Abbeydore - Dore Abbey - www.doreabbey.org.uk) in the Black Mountains Group of Parishes.

Cockyard Mission Hall was a blacksmith’s forge and shop until the occupant, Mr Hancocks, moved his business to Hungerford shortly after the end of the First World War.

The Cockyard Mission Hall, owned by Whitfield Estate, is at risk of collapse and beyond repair. After a meeting with the estate agents, church representatives, and David and Sue Cook who have cared for the hut for many years, it was decided the hall should no longer host services due to safety concerns. A final Thanksgiving and Celebration service will be held outside the Mission Hall on Sunday, 16 August at 4pm. Parking will be in the field opposit with kind permission from the Whitfield Estate.
