World Day of Prayer 6 March – Nigeria – ‘I will give
you rest, come’
The Women’s World Day of Prayer was started in the 19th century in the US and Canada with a focus on concern for women and children across the globe, and an emphasis on prayer. The first service in the UK took place during the 1930’s. The Day of Prayer aims at promoting prayerful living and worship and helping raise awareness of the lives and concerns of others throughout the world, especially those who write the service.
Each year the service is written by a different country. This year it is written by women in Nigeria with the theme of ‘I will give you rest, come’. This service will be used by people across the world on the 6th March.
St Cuthbert's Church is hosting the World Day of Prayer 2026 for the Benefice on Friday March 6th, do keep the date, and contact Chris Tinker for any further information on 07970 577614 or [email protected].
