Michaelchurch: St Michael

The parish of Brilley w Michaelchurch is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Hereford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."

St Michael’s Church, Michaelchurch-on-Arrow

St Michael’s Church, Michaelchurch-on-Arrow situated just the other side of the border in Wales was built in the 13th century and was restored in 1869.

St. Michael’s also has a Baldachino, like St. Mary’s, Brilley, again quite rare, with moulded ribs. The central rib has four carved heads of a Bishop of Hereford, Henry IV, Joan of Navarre and a grotesque face which are dated to c.1410.

There is a beautiful 15th century Screen, dividing the Chancel from the Nave.
