St James

Welcome to the website of St. James’ Church, Yeovil.

We’re a relaxed, friendly church for all ages in the North West of Yeovil. We believe in helping people to encounter God, to live out their Christian faith in daily life, and to serve and bless our community. Regular Sunday worship is at 10.30am.

Services are also broadcast on our Parish YouTube Channel most Sundays (except the the 3rd Sunday).

Within our churches, we want to make sure as more people return to church, they can feel comfortable and safe to worship God. Therefore, we are asking you to use your discretion with wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance. At the peace, please respect and be aware of those around you. Please be cautious and aware that not everyone will be as comfortable with the relaxation of the restrictions as you may be.

Our sister church St. Peters serves the Westfield area of Yeovil.

The parish of Preston Plucknett is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
