Church of England Diocese of Bath & Wells Bath, Weston, St. John

Emmanuel Church

We at Emmanuel offer a warm welcome to all in our community, young and old. We are very much a church for the community with a vision to spread the good news about Jesus and share the message of God’s love both inside and outside the four walls of the building.

We are a small, friendly and informal church and we look out for one another, offering support and encouragement, both physical and spiritual.  We warmly welcome all newcomers.

We want to share Jesus' message of forgiveness and salvation, to meet people where they are and to see God transform lives as we discover together the joy of a close and personal relationship with God and His amazing promise of eternal life.

We are happy to be meeting back in the building again from Sunday 14th March 2021. We will be taking care to adhere to all the government legislation and guidelines to ensure we are doing this in a Covid-compliant way. Please come along and join us.

Safeguarding

The parish of Bath, Weston St John is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Bath & Wells’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."

Our Fellowship group meets on a Wednesday evening. We start with a cuppa and a prayer. We look at a piece of scripture and try to discern what God is saying to us, putting into the context of the Bible as a whole and also into the context of our own lives. It is a time when we can share together God's word and encourage one another in our faith. We meet at Emmanuel, so plenty of space if you would like to come along and try us out. You would be very welcome. Contact Michael or Susannah if you would like to join the group. On the third Wednesday of each month we take a break from our study to pray for the world, the city, our church and each other.
