About Us

Welcome to St Andrew's Church

St Andrew's is part of "New Creation" which is a group of four churces in Congresbury and Banwell

Our purpose? Building Better Community.

How? By bringing Christ’s light to the heart of it.

We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to share in fellowship whilst being a pillar of support when needed.

Ethos of New Creation

Our ethos is central to our life together. We seek to live close to the person of Jesus Christ as an inclusive group of Christians from many different backgrounds, experiences and traditions with the common aim of seeking to “build a better community” in the local communities of which we are part. The idea of living relationally with God, with each other and with the physical world around us, together with the Bible stories of a “New Creation”, (Galatians 6:14-16), otherwise known as “God’s Kingdom”, inspire us greatly and these are the bedrock for our collective name and vision, “New Creation”.

Church Services at St Andrew's

Typical services on Sunday are an 8am Traditional Communion and 10:30am Commmunion based on the Common Worship texts, but with variations.
We also have a Family service monthly and various evening services at 6:30pm.

Please check our website for full details and up to date information.

You will also find details of our clergy and readers, Youth and childrens work , events coming up in the next few months, historical information and much else.

The Church building is a typical Somerset church built around 1250AD with tall spire and a full ring of bells.
Our congregation is known for it's friendliness and we try always to be open and welcoming to newcomers.
We no longer have a formal choir but the church organ is still in use and is recognised as having a very good sound.
We also are fortunate to have an excellent piano for sung worship which is based mainly on Mission Praise and includes traditional as well as more recent hymns and choruses.
