Twelfth Sunday after Trinity

Sunday 23rd August is the Twelfth Sunday after Trinity, and Christ Church welcomes you to a service of Morning Praise Iona Style at 10.30 am, and the reading from the gospel asks us all to say who we think Jesus is?.

Our service will be followed by light refreshments in the Church Room, as we exchange news and share our experiences, so do come and join us

Our Readings are:

Romans Chapter 12 verses 1-8 The new life in Christ.

and

Matthew Chapter 16 verses 113-20 Who do people say I am?

Lord Jesus,
You are a Lord who walks beside your people.
So we pray for people who walk for justice.

You are a Lord who raises up those who are bent low.
So we pray for those held down by the grindings of life
and the indifference of the world.

You are a Lord who feeds the hungry
So we pray for all who long for bread
And the means to provide it.

You are a Lord who celebrates the small and the insignificant.
So we pray for the children
And for those who are never noticed.

You are a Lord who says ‘Follow me’.
So we pray for courage and faith in our hearts
That we may take up the cross and find it leads to life.
´

Amen
