May 11th- 17th is Christian Aid week and once again we will be marking the week with an ecumenical service. This year it is the turn of St. George’s Church to host. The service is at 10.30 am and the speaker will be David Hart, Churches Engagement and Funding Officer for the Southwest. This year’s campaign features Guatemala and how climate change is affecting the cacao harvest used in the making of chocolate as well as other crops. Do come along and hear how Christian Aid is helping to train people in new techniques to cope.
Following the service there will be a two course Ploughman’s lunch in St. George’s Church Hall and Tickets price £7 are available from Mary Thomas or any member of the Christian Aid Committee. All proceeds will go to the work of Christian Aid
If you would like a lift to this service, please contact a church officer and we will arrange for someone to pick you up..
On Saturday 17th May come to the Pill Community Market in the precinct from 9.30 onwards and support our fund raising chocolate stall.
