A service of Holy Communion using seasonal variations, with hymns.
Services are held in the main church during warm weather, and in the church room during winter months, when heating the main building is difficult and costly. All are welcome to receive bread (wafer) dipped in wine, representing the body and blood of our Saviour, or a blessing. Services are followed by refreshments when we catch up on the parish news.

Christ Church

The Third Sunday after Trinity sees us return to Christ Church for a service of Morning Worship at 10.30 am. Our Service is followed by light refreshments in the church room when we catch up on local news. This week the theme of our service is discipleship, reflected by our gospel reading where Jesus sends out the 72 (or perhaps 70) to prepare the way for his visit. Do come and join us. We are preparing our church building for our forthcoming quinquennial inspection next Wednesday, when we find out the state of our building, and the work needed if we are to continue being a presence in Pill.

Our readings for this Sunday are:

Galatians  Chapter 6, verses 7-16 Life is like planting a field

Luke  Chapter 10 verses 1-11 Jesus sends out the 72 to prepare for His visit.

Lord, you instructed the 72 to visit houses and bless them with the spirit of peace.  "Send us as peacemakers and witnesses to your kingdom, and fill our hearts with joy in your promises of salvation; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen."
