A lay led service of worship including prayers, hymns and homily. The service will be held in the Church Room during colder months as the smaller space may be adequately heated. The service is followed by refreshments so we can exchange news, On the Second Sunday of each month, our service is enhanced by live music.

Christ Church

Sunday 7th September is the 12th Sunday after Trinity, and is the day when St Mary the Virgin at Portbury celebrate their patronal Festival, with an United Benefice Service of Ho;ly Communion aT 10.30 AM.   Steve Bloggs will be providing live music. Do come and join us at Portbury for this special service.

Our readings this Sunday are:

 Isaiah chapter 61 : Verses 10-11  The Lord makes me very happy

Luke chapter 1 verses 46- 55  Mary Praises God,  The Magnificat

Almighty God, who looked upon the lowliness of the Blessed Virgin Mary and chose

her to be the mother of your only Son: grant that we who are redeemed by his blood

may share with her in the glory of your eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ your

Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one

God, now and for ever.
