About Us

The Blessed Virgin Mary is a Grade 1 listed 12th Century church in a picturesque rural setting alongside St Marys VA Primary School. The church has close ties with the school which use it for many of their special services and functions.

All are welcome to the regular Sunday services which are age inclusive family services and Holy Communion. (See services schedule).

St Mary’s encourages a strong community spirit with the benefit of a recently upgraded hospitality area to support social activities such as the Toddler Group, the community café, history tours, and an art workshop.

There are many additional social functions held at the church regularly, with bell ringers, choirs, brass bands, folk groups, and art and flower exhibitions. These functions are often supported by the recently opened village Heritage Centre in the Priest Room where family history can be researched, historical documents & maps examined and historic tours planned.

The church provides a unique and idyllic historical setting for Christenings at our Norman Font which is welcoming just inside the door, or marriages at the altar in the beautiful 12th Century Chancel.
