Our much-loved local landmark, the beech tree which towers over St Mary's Church, has shed two huge limbs. Fortunately this caused no damage to the church or church yard monuments. The tree remains healthy and has been made safe by professionals, but the work has cost £900. This unexpected and significant outlay has come just as we are hoping to move forward with our building repairs.

If you can make use of some wood, which will need to be dried for use in log burners etc, or chippings for your garden, we will be grateful for a donation to help meet this sum in return. Please take what you need but leave some for others. With a small contribution from a good number of people we can offset the cost.
