Work started in July 2026 - at the height of a heatwave - on the £24,000+ project to repair a large crack in the wall above the church's most impressive stained glass window which depicts Christ's resurrection.  A well-established and very active bee colony presented a health and safety problem. Extraction and rehoming the bees - as opposed to extermination - requiring specialist bee-keeping  equipment and expert advice, working with the project's architect and contractor, was the solution chosen.  

It is hoped that with removal of the queen bee, the extraction has been successful and the builders can continue in a less challenging environment.
