A great band of volunteers weeded, scrubbed, strimmed, cleared and clipped, and turned our churchyard into an ultra tidy place. We were working so hard there arent any photos of the tidying, just the energy replenishing!Thank you to everyone who came along and worked so hard.
On 11th Oct, we celebrated all that God gives us with our harvest festival. We welcomed parishioner John Eyers, who has been volunteering at Taunton Foodbank for the past 3 years. John told us about the good work of the Foodbank, not only providing food to those who find themselves in a time of need (up to 6 times per year per family), but also importantly signposts families to agencies who can help them to improve their situation. Our collection was in aid of the Foodbank, and £278 was raised, a very worthwhile sum. We were pleased to have Neroche Hand Bell Ringers play for us - including All Creatures of our God and King - see the video in this article. The group recently reformed after disbanding during Covid Lockdowns, and are looking for a few more members so they can play a wider range of bells. No previous experience is needed, and you do not need to read music. Do get in touch with Mary Bell if you are interested in playing with them: mary.bell14@icloud.comThe produce donated to decorate the church was gratefully received by Lindley House, the shelter for the homeless in East Reach Taunton.
On behalf of St Andrew’s Church many thanks for joining us at the Garden Party on Saturday 13th June. It was lovely to see so many of the community coming together to share each other’s company and enjoy some refreshments in the sunshine. Thank you for your generous donations - you raised the wonderful sum of £550! This is fantastic and we are very grateful for your support for St Andrew’s. Special thanks to Alison, and Marion and Douglas for helping to make the afternoon so successful, and thanks to Michael and Mary Downing for donating home grown strawberries and home made cider, which we all enjoyed very much. Best wishes, Mark and Louisa. And a big thank you to Mark and Louisa for hosting us with such care and attention.
