About Us

St Andrew's Church, sited in Wellington Square, was designed by G.E.Street and built 1877-80, originally as a chapel of ease. This Grade II* listed building has lovely stained glass windows, including the stunning one behind the altar, which were designed by C.E. Kempe.

Re-ordered in 2015 it has become a hub in the centre of Minehead for many church activities as well as Sunday and weekday services. It is a flexible, multi-use building with space for different styles of worship to be facilitated. The annexe provides a meeting room, an office for the Parish Administrator, Children and Families worker and printing facilities for the parish magazine etc. A bespoke, comprehensively fitted kitchen and toilet facilities (plus disabled toilet) round it off. It hosts school visits, weddings, funerals, festivities, fund raisers and much more.

The organ at St Andrew's is a two manual that has connection with Basil Harwood. There is a new upright piano. St Andrew's has a modern sound system, video and live screen facility and hearing loop system.

This church is hospitable and welcoming in atmosphere.
