Children from KS2 came to church on Friday 4th April for their Easter Service which they presented to their parents. It was amazing to see the church full with not a spare seat. The children sang very well and house groups Squirrels, Otters, Tawny Owls and Woodpeckers performed their individual songs very well. Year 6 Values Ambassadors said prayers which they read from the pulpit with real confidence and expression. Parents enjoyed tea and coffee before the service. Rev Andy Barton took the service. We’ll done to all the children
The Lang Room was filled with the sound of the cogwheels of many brains whirring away as teams tackled the quiz. The winners were Keyla’s 4-person team called “May contain nuts”.The winners scored 76% and the wooden spoon team scored 65% so it was a close-run competition with the lead changing hands many times. The food was enjoyed by all and there was plenty of it. There was a profit of £183 for church funds. Thanks are due to Jacquie Hockaday, Sheila Rabson and Alison Toogood for providing the food.
Following tradition Christmas Eve was again time for children and parents to come along to All Saints’ for the annual Christingle and Crib Service. About 50 children came along at 3pm to make their Christingles which was followed at 4pm by the Crib Service when the crib was blessed. The children were very enthusiastic with their making of Christingles and the volunteers from the church who come along to help always enjoy the time spent with them and the Crib Service that followed.Having that special link with Rockwell Green Primary School our School’s Chaplain, Helena gave her support to the event.
