For many years, the concert organist David Price, who now lives in Thailand, has
given an annual recital tour of English church and cathedral organs. We have
engaged David, who is also an Anglican priest in Thailand, to come to St John’s as
part of this year’s tour and provide a recital on Saturday 26th July at 7 p.m. It has
been agreed that admission to the recital will be by donation. David Price will give
50% of the takings towards our efforts to pay for the costs of installing a new
working processor in the organ, amounting to £4000. As you may already know,
the St John’s instrument is highly regarded by organists who play for our services
and has a good regional reputation too.
David’s programme will last about 45 minutes, and he has deliberately selected a
programme that will have a wide and popular appeal. Free refreshments will be
available before the recital. Please do support the occasion so that we can
maintain the excellence of our church organ. Thank you
