Getting here
St Peter's is a lively and active congregation of people at many stages of religious faith, but always open to new people. We are from a broadly Catholic (sacramental) tradition within the Church of England, but we are diverse in lots of ways, and try to offer many activities for all ages.
There is a large community centre attached to the church which hosts groups of many types: Explorers, Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Cubs, Rainbows & Beavers meet each week. There is a flower-arranging group, yoga, theatre, music and sports groups (including ladies' badminton), and many more. Children's parties can also be held there.
There are regular prayer groups and bible study groups meeting in church and the Home Communion rounds for the three parishes in Haslingden & Helmshore are co-ordinated from here.
The congregation has an active programme of young people's activities, and we try to be especially welcoming to families with young children. The Diocese of Blackburn awarded St Peter's their Child Friendly Church award in 2009. If you are interested in St Peter's Stay-and-Play group, for parents/carers with children from birth to school age, please call in on term-time Wednesday mornings between 9.30 and 11.
