The Midday Office (Sext - meaning 'sixth hour') is said before a short, said east facing Mass of the day usually held in the Lady Chapel. All Masses are currently held in the Nave due to social distancing requirements.
Join the Vicar in rounding off the day in prayer before you go to sleep. This is a livestreamed service shown on Facebook at 9pm on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri and Saturday nights. www.facebook.com/burnleystandrew
Sometimes we just need to say 'sorry'. We cannot assume we are automatically forgiven because that is not the case. We are all sinners, we all need to face our mistakes and bring them to God in penitence and faith that He will forgive us when we ask for His mercy. The priest has been given a share in Christ's authority which He left to His Church to forgive sins in His Name. Hearing the words 'Go in peace. The Lord has put away ALL your sins' can come as a great relief when a burden is too heavy to carry. Confessions are socially distanced and in a private chapel in the church behind closed doors for privacy.
These Masses are on a rotation. Each Saturday provides a Mass for a different cause: 1st Saturday of the month - Mass for the Dead 2nd Saturday of the month - Mass for the Sick 3rd Saturday of the month - Mass of Our Lady 4th Saturday of the month - Mass of Thanksgiving 5th Saturday of the month - Mass for Christian Unity

There is a Daily Prayer service 15 minutes before each Mass every day of the week. Friday Prayers focus on the great cost of our salvation as we recall the Passion of Our Lord. Saturdays are traditionally given to Mary and the focus moves to the Mother of God. Night prayer will be live streamed via Facebook excluding Mondays and Sundays at 9pm.

Parents and children can meet in our beautiful church hall to 'Stay and Play'! The adults can have a cuppa, some toast and chat to other parents whilst the children are free to play with lots of toys indoors and outside in our children's play area and Fairy Garden. We provide only healthy snacks as OFSTED would require for children and we end with singing nursery rhymes. It's a real fun-packed two hours which is proving to be very popular. There is a small charge of £1.50 to help cover our costs. NOT OPEN BANK HOLIDAYS.
