Our very own Angela Walton won 1st prize for an eco friendly container of wild flowers. This was touching as they were grown from seeds given out in memory of Dawn McFadyen. Angela was highly commended in the category for wild flowers grown in an unusual container - wildflowers grown in a straw hat! The winner had grown flowers in a set of bedside drawers! Prizegiving is at 3.30pm on 4th September at the Methodist church. Contact kathyrn Heyworth for a full list of categories and winners kathheyworth@hotmail.co.uk The morning was a great opportunity to visit our Refectory Garden, which sadly had not been entered!. It was alive with butterflies and honey bees. Our churchyard too is eco friendly as it is not mowed and again sadly was not entered!. Next year…..
Our monthly time of singing followed by a 2 course hot lunch continues throughout the summer. We joined in singing hymns that bring comfort and peace. Next session is Tuesday 26th August.
