We heard reports from General Synod and Diocesan Synod, plus all the news from our parishes. It was a time of sharing and celebrating all the great ministry in our parishes. Our new Deanery Newsletter was launched. Hard copies were distributed, but in future it will be released quarterly and by email. If you wish to receive it, please email rebekah.laurie@blackburn.anglican.org . We enjoyed a time of worship, prayer and singing (10,000 Reasons). All our Synod meetings are ‘open’ i.e. all welcome. Next one will be in the autumn.
It was a joy to be at Synod as we laid down Vision 2026 and started to get ready for our new Vision ‘Joyful followers of Jesus’. This will be launched in November. It was good to reflect on Vision 2026 and what was led by Bishop Julian’s presence and drive. So much good has come out of this whilst acknowledging some of the challenges along the way. Prayer continues and will be a key feature as we serve the Lord in proclaiming and witnessing the Gospel.
