Thank you to all who decorated our church, our Refectory and cooked , served our Harvest lunch. We raised £350 for the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal.
We heard the story of the Lost Sheep and thought about how much Jesus cares for us. Thank you to Clare for a tasty supper and to Helen for creating the resources. A wonderful time of fellowship for youngsters and adults! For more pictures click the link.
In his letter, he says: "It has been wonderful to see the huge increase in the amount of money that has been raised for the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal in recent years. Last year we donated over £23,000 to support primary schools and a women’s literacy programme in our link Diocese of Multan in Pakistan. This year I want to encourage you to support a range of projects in another of our link Dioceses, the Free State in South Africa."Bishop Philip goes on to say that Bishop Dintoe, Bishop of the Free State, has identified some priorities which our appeal can support. These are:· Training and formation of vocation candidates and clergy· Developing ministry to boys and young men· Assisting the Mothers' Union and the Diocesan Gender Coordinator in Gender Based Violence workshops.· Carrying out of environmental workshops to help safeguard the sanctity of the earth. He goes on to say: "To help publicise the Harvest Appeal, on October 17th I am going to go on a pedal-along in which I will visit and pray in one school or church in every single one of our 14 Deaneries. For more details and to donate Read more about the Harvest Appeal for 2025 here.
