It was wonderful to gather on such a cold and icy night. Inspired by the end of one year and the start of another, we reflected on our gifts and blessings, our hopes for 2026 and how we can share the Love of Jesus with others. We shared the LIGHT with each other using our candles and quietly prayed, following hearing verses from ‘Poems for a Wounded World’ by Jon Swales. Our next meeting is Wednesday 4th February.
My question is ‘Are we over familiar with this; how long is it since we reflected on what we say? I invite you to attend just one session, (choose below) where with the help of Bishop Joe (video link) we will explore Three Articles of the Creed. I have offered various options to accommodate those unavailable in the day time. Please try to join me – it would be great to see you ●•^- · THIS Wednesday 14th January – 10.30am - 12noon – The Refectory, St Anne’s · THIS Wednesday 14th January – 7.30pm - 9pm – The Refectory, St Anne’s · Tuesday 27th January – 7.30pm - 9pm – St John’s – **please contact Church Warden, Simon Gilbert if you are attending 07962 266401
In November 1926, most of Lancashire was lifted out of the Diocese of Manchester under the wise leadership of William Temple and became a brand new Diocese. Its cathedral was placed in Blackburn because Temple wanted a strong presence right in the very heart of industrial East Lancashire, surrounded with its mill chimneys and mine wheels. Percy Herbert became our first bishop and so the journey began. You have been given a prayer card – please add it to your prayers this year.
