About Us

St Giles is in Stanton St Quintin, Chippenham, Wiltshire.
The building dates from the twelfth to the fifteenth century, with major alterations in 1827, 1851 and 1888. The interior was remodelled in 2019. It is one of 8 churches in the Gauzebrook group in North Wiltshire.
We have one service each Sunday at 9.30am. Our services are fairly traditional but relaxed and all inclusive. We serve refreshments after each service, to have some time for fellowship. We are a friendly and welcoming church to newcomers and supportive of the regular congregation. We have close links with the village school which is just opposite the church. http://www.stantonschool.net/
The church is popular with wedding couples from outside the village due to the proximity of the Stanton Manor Hotel and we love to meet the couples during their preparation for their weddings. If you want to enquire about a wedding (or a baptism) please contact our Parish Administrator, Alison Withers [email protected] telephone 01666 825019.

The Church of England website page about getting married in church is here https://www.churchofengland.org/life-events/weddings

We have a Festival Choir which rehearses for Christmas, Easter and Harvest. All are welcome to join.
We have several community events throughout the year, to raise money and to enjoy fellowship with the wider community.

Our award winning Living Churchyard project maintains the churchyard as a wildlife haven. One of our regulars has set up a Facebook page for this project. It is very interesting and informative. Please come along and join in on one of our working Saturdays. You don't have to do any work if you just want to find out more. Ivan, one of our coordinators, has received an award from Wiltshire Wildlife for his work with wildlife and particularly with the Living Churchyard project.

We have a house study group and engage with the other churches in the Gauzebrook area to share our studies.
