The Ossuary

St Leonard’s Church has the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient human bones and skulls in Britain. The collection consists of shelves in four arched bays, sometimes known as our "crypt."

The ossuary is generally closed in winter, but open every day during the summer from Easter to October. Further details of opening times, and of how to arrange a special visit for a group, or outside normal opening times, can be found on our website.
