The ancient tower was repointed around the middle of last century using mortar, completly wrong for such a building; inevitably the mortar has started to fail, resulting in ominously large damp patches appearing inside. Now we can commit our own funds to match the grants and repoint the tower using lime mortar. Work starts this spring!
