Share in our online worship with Christians from the Eden valley from Langwathby to Lazonby and Kirkoswald to the fellside villages. By coming together to worship God, let us draw closer to Him, learn, and be encouraged. We hope you will be part of this online service by watching at a time convenient to yourself. If you can't attend church locally, or see one of our local 'Zoom services', you can still watch an online service streamed from the Church of England. Each week they come from a different part of the country or have a different theme. Draw closer to God in company with people from across the UK. The service is recorded so that you can choose when you want to watch it. You can also see previous services.
On Friday mornings, for just half an hour, we meet to pray God’s blessings on our local community. This starts at 9 a.m. and we are meeting together on 'Zoom'. (Normally we meet at St Cuthbert's Church, Great Salkeld -outside if possible but otherwise in church). At present some are also choosing to pray individually in their own homes. All over the country similar groups are praying at the same time. This is a positive way of praying for the community - especially in the current Coronavirus situation. A copy of the Friday Blessing Prayers is attached as a PDF file that can be upload - click on 'view attachment' below. Contact Peter Pickthall for more details and how to join on 'Zoom': 01768 898396
If you can't go to church you can still spend a special time with God each Sunday from our own home and in the knowledge that you will be doing this whilst others in the Parish and wider Mission Community will also be taking part. Click on "View attachment" below.to download a local service plan developed by our own clergy team in the local East of Eden Mission Community for you to use at home. Any queries to Rev. Click on the MORE ABOUT THIS EVENT button to join this event by Zoom. For Lent we are following the book: "Living His Story: Revealing the extraordinary love of God in ordinary ways" by Hannah Steele. It is the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book for this year. Part of it was written in the first lockdown so the writer is recognising the current challenges the church is facing. It gives a ‘fresh perspective on evangelism’ and helps us to ‘become more confident and creative in the task of witnessing’. Lent is also a time of self reflection and preparing for the future. For those who are unable to participate on Zoom, you will still be able to read the book at home and engage in the Lent material.
