Our Building

Open everyday usually between 10am and 4pm

Viking artefacts - fishing stone and hogback tombs displayed in church
world famous Gosforth Cross in the churchyard. These are from the period when the local Vikings were becoming Christians. Plague hollows in the East wall of the churchyard

A very small informal choir leads the singing at all except the 10am service on the first Sunday of the month when "Fishing Stone" a group of guitar players and singers take their place


Groups, Courses and Activities

a Lent course, a study group in the Autumn and an Advent Course.

On the first Thursday of each month from 10.30 to noon in St Mary’s Room. All welcome.

The Gosforth MU has merged with the Seascale MU to form the Gosforth and Seascale Branch. Meetings are usually on the 4th Monday of the month and alternate between the two villages. They include worship, talks on Christian aspects of local and international issues and fellowship over meals and entertainment.

parents or carers are welcome to bring babies and toddlers on Tuesdays from 10am to noon in ST Mary's room in term time


Help for Visitors

laminated information sheets are in a rack facing the door and can be taken round church.
The Guide Book, Leaflets and postcards are available at the back of Church.

The building is open daily from 10 to 4 but often for longer in summer

At present donations of money are accepted with the fair trade orders and the money is spent on goods for the foodbank.
There is a collection point at the back of church with a list of what food is needed. The food is taken weekly to the foodbank in Egremont.

The room has a capacity for up to 50 people depending on the activity. There is a kitchen with cutlery and crockery available
