About Us

St James Church has served the North End of Birkenhead for over 150 years.  We continue to worship God in our landmark building, that has given its name to the local Council Ward and the nearby St James Centre (run by the North Birkenhead Development Trust).

As a Church, we believe the good news of Jesus is as relevant today as it has ever been, and the presence of God continues to make a difference in our lives.

We aim to make our Sunday Services and other events accessible and welcoming, whether or not you've been to Church before.  The style of our worship is quite informal, with, modern music, easy to follow Orders of Service and children groups or activities for both children and young people.

Services usually last for around an hour, with refreshments served afterwards and you are welcome to join us any time.  For further details, check out the different pages on this website, get in touch, or just come along.  It'll be good to see you.

If you would like to enquire about a Baptism or Christening, a Wedding Service or a Funeral for a loved one, do get in touch.
