Note to visitors: The little road called Sandy Lane, which runs between Congleton/Swettenham Road and Swettenham Lane is impassable. This is due to a collapse in the road surface. There is no turning space. Some SatNav systems may try to send you down it.

Swettenham is situated some five miles north-west of Congleton on the banks of the River Dane, which flows though the parish in a delightful and unspoilt valley, breaking up the flat but well-wooded country lying to the north and south. To the east the plain rises gently to a background formed by the east Cheshire hills.

St. Peter's Church serves the Parish of Swettenham. Our church is a beautiful, listed building, set in the Dane Valley.

We aim to serve the parish as a broad church, a musical church, an active church, a church for all ages, a church where everyone is always welcome.

St. Peter's is part of the Diocese of Chester and the Church of England, and is one of the Rural Daneside Churches.

Christ Church, Eaton near Congleton

Christ Church is our parish church and is located in the award winning village of Eaton on the A536 between Congleton and Macclesfield. This is a lively and vibrant village with a strong community spirit of which the church is a central part.

St James & St Paul, Marton

Welcome to the parish church of St James and St Paul in Marton, near Macclesfield, in Cheshire.

We are part of the Church of England in the Diocese of Chester, serving the small (but perfectly formed) village of Marton, a few miles north of Congleton. Our church building is (we think) the oldest of its kind still in use in Europe, and we are rather fond of it.

It was founded in 1343, and much of what was built then is still here. We hope that both the building and the worshipping community will be here for another few centuries at least.

All Saints, Siddington

Welcome to All Saints Parish Church in Siddington, a small historic church at the heart of a thriving rural community, in the parish of Siddington with Capesthorne.

The church is part of a group of four neighbouring country parishes, Rural Daneside Churches, with shared values, but who have their own individual character. All the parishes come together regularly for joint services, usually at Marton C of E School, the local primary school for seven parishes in all.

All Saints’ congregation is formed not just from the village, however. Many people from the surrounding areas enjoy the fellowship and variety of worship which the church offers. You are very welcome to join any of the services, details of which can be seen on the Services and Events page.

The church is often at its best at the major services – Easter, Harvest and Christmas – when capacity congregations in a lovingly decorated building celebrate the essence of Christian faith in a modern world.

All Saints is also the driving force behind Redesmere Fete, a traditional country event which draws hundreds of visitors. See the separate page.
