A very warn welcome to you wherever you are from the family of St George's and St Thomas' in Hyde. We would love to welcome you in person at either of our church buildings, and we pride ourselves in being an inclusive and welcoming churches. However at the moment the restrictions that are in place to help protect our communities and families during the Coronavirus pandemic currently mean that our buildings are currently closed to the public. We did successfully open with no reported cases prior to the second lockdown, and as soon as we are given permission to re-open we will look to do this as soon as possible. Should we re-open, we will continue to be limited to 30 people in the congregation. We will continue to broadcast our services on both Zoom and our Facebook page, and encourage you to join our online community each Sunday. If you would like the Zoom meeting reference, please contact our churchwarden, and we can add you to our email list.
The parish of Hyde: St George with St Thomas is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Most churches are “Excepted Charities” and are therefore not registered with the Charity Commission. You can download a PDF that includes your church name, address and church code. This PDF, which is an extract from the Church of England’s database of churches, can serve as a certificate for churches requiring proof of their charity status when registering for online and card-based giving. Click on the download button below and fill in the short form. You will then be emailed the certificate as a PDF.
