READINGS FOR TODAY’S MASSES

Acts 1:12-14

Part of Psalm 27 R/ I believe I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.

1 Peter 4:13-16

Alleluia, alleluia.

I will not leave you as orphans, says the Lord.

I am going away and I will come to you, and your hearts will rejoice.

Alleluia.

John 17:1-11a (pages 402-404 of the Sunday Missal)

ANNUAL MEETINGS

Thank you to everyone who attended last week’s annual meetings. Patricia Bolton and Ian Johnston were re-elected as church wardens. Steve Huggins, Margaret Oliver and Ann Luckman were re-elected to the PCC. Ann Tuesley and Amy Bracey were elected as deanery synod representatives.

‘THY KINGDOM COME’ DAYS OF PRAYER

These days between Ascension and Pentecost are days of prayer for the mission and growth of the Church. As part of that, we invite you to join us for Holy Hours of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on Monday and Friday at 12.30pm.

PENTECOST

Pentecost, joyful the conclusion of the Easter season, falls NEXT SUNDAY. Why not wear something red that day to demonstrate our trust in the burning fire of the Holy Spirit? And that day we will draw the Easter raffle after the morning Mass.

CORPUS CHRISTI

Bishop Paul will be with us for the celebration of Corpus Christi on Thursday, 4 June at 7.30pm. We look forward to being joined by friends from other parishes for this celebration.
