Church Lane

As the restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic are being relaxed, the PCC have decided to revert to a regular pattern of services at Stoneleigh Church.

All services will be held at 11 am, and will take the form of a Holy Eucharist inside the church. In hot weather the service may be moved to outside the church and seating will be made available.

On the first Sunday of each month Eucharist will be celebrated as a United Service at either Ashow or Stoneleigh, with the one at Ashow starting at 10 am on Odd months, and the Stoneleigh service at 11 am on Even months.

Please note the following:

1. Social distancing has been relaxed.

2. You are asked to continue wearing face masks if you are able but it is not mandatory.

3. The congregation may now join in the singing of hymns, songs and responses where indicated in the Order of Service.

4. Hymn books, service books, and Pew Sheets will be handed out as you enter the church.

5. The partaking of communion wine has been re-introduced. However the method of distribution is for the celebrant to dip a wafer into the chalice and then place it in the hands of each communicant. Should anybody not wish to receive the bread and wine in this manner they are urged to come forward to receive a blessing, and discuss the matter after the service with the celebrant or a church warden. Communicants will not be permitted to drink from the chalice.
6. The retiring collection has been discontinued and a collection will be taken during the course of the service.

7. We are now permitted to serve refreshments after the service, and you are cordially invited to join us for a drink and a chat with fellow members of the congregation and visitors.

Should you have any queries about anything, please speak to one of the wardens.
