Below is a letter from the Benefice Church Wardens regarding services during January. Information updates and service details are available at https://draycotegroup.org.uk/get-involved/ You can contact your Church Warden at: https://draycotegroup.org.uk/contact-us/Dear Friends As we have entered a further full lockdown today, we have taken the decision to undertake all our worship online for the duration of this lockdown, and potentially until Easter. The Benefice Council believes this is the right thing to do in response to the government’s instruction for us to stay at home apart from essential activities as permitted. This does not mean we are suspending worship. We are intending to continue our extensive range of online services, which have been running successfully since March 2020. We have worked hard to improve the technical quality of our Zoom services and are very satisfied that this is the best, and most effective, online gathering option for our church community. It’s worship which allows us to gather live, to see and hear each other, and to be together in fellowship with coffee afterwards. Zoom is easy to use and we can provide instructions, help, practice or telephone access details, if you would like to join us. Many of you have not yet tried it, and we would encourage you to give it a go! We are missing seeing our regular attendees with whom we would gather in church. We have built a community of around 20 on a Sunday morning, but there is definitely space for more. Having undertaken online services for some months now, we believe the time is right to develop this further, so from this month, we will be retaining the existing format, but introducing a new monthly ‘Family Service’ worship and we are considering how we might offer a monthly sharing communion as well. So, there is choice and different styles from which to choose. In addition to Sundays, we will continue to offer short Morning and Night Prayer services and our monthly ‘Celebrate@4’ service which is particularly suitable for those preferring a more informal style. Full details with access information is below. The next couple of months are clearly going to be difficult for many people in our communities. We ask our church family to continue to do what you have done so well for the last few months now; to reach out, look after and love your friends and neighbours in whatever way you can. Do let one of us know if you would welcome help, support or a socially distanced chat. Our details are below, and on our website www.draycotegroup.org.uk With our loving thoughts and prayers
