Prayer and Worship
Thought for the day - Thursday 20th January
The prophet Amos is perhaps the prophet most outspoken about God’s anger at Israel’s sin. In Amos 9, the final chapter of his book, Amos prophesies God’s total destruction of sinful Israel. But the book ends with a prediction of God’s rescue for a remnant, a remnant who will rebuild all that has been destroyed, and of mountains and hills that ‘drip sweet wine,’ imagery used to picture God’s goodness and favour.
Please pray for a transformation of all that angers and saddens God in our world today.
