The Vicar of St Peter & St Paul, Old Bramptoninvites applications for the role ofOrganist and Choral DirectorOld Brampton Church is a village church with a long-standing musical tradition and ambitions forthe future. We are looking for someone to work with us to develop music provision within ourworship and, in time, to explore ways of developing stronger links with the local communitythrough music making. We would welcome enquiries from people with past experience but alsofrom those who wish to further develop their skills as Organist and Choral Director.Old Brampton’s congregation is warm and welcoming. The worship style is ‘central’ and peoplevalue both traditional hymns and some more contemporary music. Currently the small robed choirsing only occasionally but would like to start singing more frequently again. The church is RSCMaffiliated and RSCM rates apply.Our current weekly services pattern is as follows:1st Sunday: 9:30am All Age Service2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday: 9:30am Holy Communion3rd Sunday: 9:30am Service of the WordThe major festivals are all celebrated locally, although some rotate across the group of threechurches to which Old Brampton belongs. Currently there is also one Sunday evening service permonth which also rotates. There is also a variable number of weddings and funerals which will beremunerated separately. A supportive reserve organist is often available.We have a pipe organ and an electric piano: the organ (on the NPO register) is in need of somerefurbishment and a working group is currently exploring options for the future. Our new Organistand Choral Director will take an active part in those discussions.There may be a possibility of additional Sunday hours in due course.
