Sunday morning services

Church_news

Resumption of normal services and activities will be taking place gradually over the next weeks and months at St Bartholomew’s. We will be proceeding with caution and taking note of national developments and guidelines along the way, together with guidance from the Church of England.

The Sunday morning Eucharist at 11am has been taking place again for some months already. We have relaxed the distancing rules to the extent of allowing normal seating on one side of the church and socially distanced seating on the other, so that individual wishes and preferences can be respected. We ask that, if you can, you keep a face covering on at all times while in church, except when taking communion at the altar. We would also be grateful if you would continue to take hygiene precautions; hand sanitiser is provided for this purpose. We have started introducing the singing of some of the hymns during the service. For the moment, refreshments will continue not to be offered after the service.

Looking forward, we will be celebrating 125 years of St Bartholomew’s church in September – look out for announcements nearer the time about how we will be marking the occasion.

And we are optimistic that events such as the Brick Festival in September and the Christmas Tree Festival in December will be able to take place.

We also intend to hold further table top sales in the church grounds.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Reverend Jo Morris, Rector
