Sung Eucharist is held every Sunday morning at 9.30. All welcome.
There has been a place of worship on the site of St. Margaret of Antioch in Tanfield since circa 900 AD. It is rumoured that the monks carrying the body of St Cuthbert rested here before moving on to Chester-le-Street. A Chapel of Ease was established and the monks would come from Chester-le-Street and ring a bell for the farm workers to come in from the fields to worship.
