The first Sunday Of The Month is a Family Service and the format is changed accordingly e.g. We have a slightly shorter service and The Sacrament is that of the Pre- Consecrated. The Liturgy is lighter; reflected in the music & hymns. The Sermon Slot is Family friendly. There is a safe child friendly area at the back of church where smaller children can be engaged if they wish whilst still being part of the service. We randomly involve children in the liturgy e.g. Swinging The Incense - taking the collection - and ringing the bell etc. refreshments served after the Service.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Coundon is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [add their details here or use the button to link to a page that shows the info] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [add their details here or use the button below to link to your own page that shows the info or the diocesan safeguarding page]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
