The church is a splendid Victorian Building of 1876 with a fine open-timbered roof.

It was built by Edward Joicey at a cost of £13,000 and  contains windows by Kempe, Burne-Jones, William Morris & Co. Baguely, Wailes & Strang.

The two manual organ was built for the church by Father Willis and was rebuilt by Vincent of Sunderland in 1949.

The parish office is held in the church hall on Sunday morning at 10.45 for booking of baptisms and weddings, no appointment necessary. The church hall is just above the church on Belle Vue Bank. Public car park very near, free on Sundays.

The Rev Canon Yvonne Greener BA. MA. was licensed at Priest in Charge and Associate Minister of St Chad's Bensham on February 14th 2016.
