Church of England Diocese of Durham Winlaton

About Us

We are a friendly Church of England church in the heart of Winlaton. We serve the whole of Winlaton, Winlaton Mill and Blaydon Burn. Everyone is very welcome to our services and we love to welcome new people into our church family. We meet to worship at 8.00am and 9.30am on a Sunday morning, and at the 9.30am service we have a Sunday School called "Candles and Lanterns" in the church hall. We also have a Messy Church in the hall on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am - 12pm.

We love to welcome families for baptisms and weddings. For more information either pop into church between 7pm-7.30pm on a Thursday evening, or contact our Rector, the Reverend Alison Stewart Smith, on 0191 4529381 or email [email protected]

The parish of Winlaton is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, (PSO). The Diocese of Durham's safeguarding page https://durhamdiocese.org/safeguarding-abuse-concerns/ contains vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA), who advises PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
