Six Fen Churches

Since 1216 the Church of England has proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ to every generation in the Fens. For centuries the parish of Doddington covered 38,000 acres of Fenland in one of the largest parishes in the country.

During the Victorian era new parishes were made in Benwick, Wimblington and Manea and in the 21st century they were combined with Welney and Christchurch.

These six villages continue to hold Christian worship so their churches are the centre of community. Churches seek to offer a quality of life that puts forgiveness at the centre of our loves, so we see the kingdom of God in love peace and hope.
