What's on

Organ recital inspired by the paths, streams, and wildlife of the Dorsington arboretum.

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Peter's Church, Dorsington
Address
Dorsington Stratford upon Avon, CV37 8AZ, United Kingdom

On Friday 17th July at 7pm, Oxford University organ scholar George Finney will be giving an organ recital at St Peter’s church, Dorsington. Come along to this hour-long organ recital for a lovely summer evening of music. Based on the theme of 'ripples', the programme has been inspired by the walks George has taken alongside the stream in the Dorsington Arboretum and investigates the different ways music, like water, moves and is moulded by its surroundings.

Performed on a fine digital instrument that is infrequently used, the variety of repertoire in this recital hopes to make the most of the instrument.

Programme
Johann Sebastian Bach Toccata and Fugue in D Minor BWV 565

Paul Hindemith Organ Sonata No.2

Sergei Rachmaninov arr. McVicker Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini: 18th Variation

Lucinda Bell Canadian Geese Suite

Rhian Samuel Rejoice! Fantasia on Victimae Paschali Laudes

Admission is by voluntary donation, which will directly support a newly formed local choir, Persevare, that hopes to improve access to choral singing for young adults. Tickets are available now, either via the link below or the QR code on the poster in the attached file.
