Open for Private Prayer

From_the_Vicar News_about_our_building

The Government has announced that places of worship in England may open for private prayer. We are delighted that this is the case because our church building here is usually open to all, nearly every day of the year.

We will be pleased to welcome people back to this house of prayer. St John the Baptist Church will be open each Sunday and Wednesday from 15th June.

We do, however, need to take care to minimise risk and the spread of the coronavirus. Our church building will have hand-sanitizer available, which we encourage visitors to use; and we ask that the 2 meters social distancing is observed.

Our church building is cared for by a small number of volunteers and to ensure your and their safety we are opening our church building for two days a week initially – we hope to open more than this into the future. By opening two days a week, should the virus come onto the premises it will cease to be after 72 hours.

You are very welcome to come to pray and be still in this holy place. Bless you.
