St Michael's

OUR CHURCH IS NOW OPEN FOR IN-PERSON WORSHIP ON SUNDAYS AND DURING THE WEEK FOR PRIVATE PRAYER. WE HAVE A THRIVING CHURCH COMMUNITY ON OUR FACEBOOK GROUP AND POST TALKS AND UPDATES ON OUR WEBSITE, YOUTUBE AND PODCAST.  PLEASE CLICK 'VISIT SITE' AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

St Michael's is a friendly, vibrant Anglican church community meeting regularly for services at the historic church in the heart of Bishop's Cleeve. No matter what your age, background or stage of faith, we welcome you to come in and see if there is something here that helps you - whether that's finding out more about the Christian faith, discovering different worship styles, activities for children and families, support with a wedding, baptism or bereavement, or simply to make new friends.

Before the pandemic our normal pattern of service aimed to accommodate both traditional and contemporary styles of worship. Currently, we offer one Sunday service at 11am at St Michael's Church. Booking is not required. Please arrive with your mask.

We are committed to investing in and growing God's work with children and families and have various groups available to children and parents on Sundays and during the week. We also meet regularly with the local schools through our Open The Book team, lunch-time Bible clubs and assemblies. Most of our groups are free, including our popular Summer Holiday Club, which offers free care, activities and food for children during one week of the school summer holidays.

We welcome and encourage people looking for friendship and offer Life Groups, which are Christian-based small home groups meeting regularly outside church (currently online via Zoom), open to anyone looking to explore life and make new friends.

We also offer outreach in the community and we are home to the Bishop's Cleeve Food Bank.

Our church is founded on prayer and we offer regular prayer meetings, prayer ministry at our Sunday services and prayer initiatives throughout the year, such as Thy Kingdom Come.

We hope you feel you receive a warm welcome. Please do take a look at our website, or our Facebook page, for more information about service times and all that we have going on.

We look forward to meeting you!

NOTE: The parish of Bishop's Cleeve: St Michael & All Angels is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We gather at 11am on Sundays at church, currently alternating between traditional and contemporary services. We also meet outside, in homes, and at other times in the year. There's no need to book to our Sunday services, just turn up and you will be welcomed at the door. Wearing a face mask is optional. All are very welcome, whether you're new here, passing through or a regular. We'd love to see you!

We have a new monthly pattern to our services with one week being more traditional - with set liturgy, Holy Communion and music provided by our choir. On alternate weeks we have a contemporary-style 'all-age' service, supported by a music group singing modern worship songs, and we also run children's groups* at these services.

Here what's on for the coming month.

30th January at 11am - Traditional Holy Communion

6th February at 11am - Contemporary Café-style Service (informal table layout)*

13th February at 10am - Church on the Hill (meet at Cleeve Hill near the Golf Club)

13th February at 11am - Traditional Holy Communion

20th February at 11am - Contemporary Morning Worship*

27th February at 11am - Traditional Holy Communion

The regular monthly service pattern is:

1st & 3rd Sundays – Contemporary Morning Worship (with music group and children’s groups*)
2nd & 4th Sundays – Holy Communion (with choir and organ)
5th Sunday - one of the above

*Nightlights (0-3s), Sparklers (4-8s), Blaze (9-13s), please do see our Children's Sunday Groups page for more information.

You can also watch various talks on YouTube, or listen on the Podcast.

Please see our Facebook group for more information. Everyone is welcome to attend.
