Threads through the Cross is a powerful large-scale textile exhibition by acclaimed artist Jacqui Parkinson, bringing the story of Jesus’s life, death and resurrection vividly to life through colour, texture and remarkable design and craft.
The exhibition is made up of 18 panels, each nearly 3 metres high exploring key moments from the events leading up to the crucifixion through to the resurrection and beyond. Each piece is richly layered with silks, paint, metallic leathers and gold leaf, creating an immersive visual experience filled with movement, symbolism and emotion.
The panels are bold and dramatic in scale drawing visitors into the story in a way that is both accessible and deeply moving. Through vibrant colour and expressive design, Jacqui Parkinson invites viewers to reflect on significance of Jesus, his life and death, his resurrection and ascension in a fresh and compelling way.
