Life Events - Funerals

St Paul’s will always be made available for funerals of those in the parish. The Minister who will conduct the service will visit beforehand and give all the help that is necessary to create a meaningful, comforting celebration of the person’s life. They will do everything they can to make it special and personal, helping you with the choice of music, hymns and readings. Family members and friends are welcome to contribute to the service – again this can all be discussed when the minister visits. After the funeral People who have lost someone close to them are often so busy with practical details and arrangements between the death and the funeral that they do not experience the full sense of their loss until later.

Grieving is a natural and important part of coming to terms with and healing this loss and it may continue for several months. If you would like to talk or meet with us again we would be more than willing to give you any help you need.

Annually, on a Sunday afternoon at the end of October/beginning of November, we hold Memorial Services at St Paul’s when there is the opportunity for family and friends to remember loved ones who have died. All those whose funerals have been taken by a member of our funeral ministry team during the previous year will be remembered by name and everybody attending will be invited to light a candle in memory of their loved ones.
