Christenings (also known as Baptism)

We believe your child is precious to God, just as they're precious to you! We'd love to help you celebrate that with a christening in church. A christening (or baptism - they mean the same thing) is a special ceremony where they are blessed with the sign of the cross, where water is poured on their head three times, as a symbol of new life and new beginnings, where parents and Godparents make promises for the child as they are welcomed into God's family.

If as an adult, you feel that you would like to be baptised please do get in touch, age is no barrier to joining God's family.

If you would like to arrange a Christening at St. George's, please come to the Parish Office which is open every Saturday between 10am & 12 noon in St Michael's Church, Great Coates Road, Little Coates. DN34 4ND and we will be able to help you.

If you can't make it on a Saturday, please get in touch using the contact details.
